DR. HARRISON NGUYEN
Dr. Harrison P. Nguyen, MD, MBA, MPH, DTM&H, FAAD, is a double board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon, proudly serving the Houston area. As the Managing Director of Harrison Dermatology & Research Group, he brings a unique blend of medical expertise, academic leadership, and innovative skin care solutions to patients seeking exceptional dermatologic care.
An NIH-funded clinical researcher and respected educator, Dr. Nguyen also serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Health Economics at the University of Houston College of Medicine. His dedication to advancing dermatology through both patient care and policy leadership distinguishes him as a trusted name in the field.
Dr. Nguyen graduated with honors from Rice University, where he also played as an All-Conference Linebacker for the Rice Owls. He earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, followed by an MBA from Yale School of Management, an MPH from Yale School of Public Health, and a DTM&H from the National School of Tropical Medicine. His fellowship in Mohs, Laser, and Cosmetic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and leadership as Chief Resident at Emory University reflect his deep clinical training and commitment to excellence.
In addition to leading patient care at Harrison Dermatology, Dr. Nguyen serves on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology and the Journal of Cutaneous Medicine and has authored over 60 peer-reviewed scientific publications. He also leads the Health Policy Research Group for the American Academy of Dermatology and has been a Visiting Professor at prestigious institutions, including Oregon Health & Science University and Baylor College of Medicine.
When he’s not in the clinic or the classroom, Dr. Nguyen enjoys fitness training, boxing, and Latin dance, especially salsa and bachata. A lifelong athlete, he remains an enthusiastic football fan.
